I don’t know if its because i’ve been watching too much food network or if I’m just taking advantage of having my own kitchen, but I’ve been really into baking lately. Recently, I made a pretty sweet “Hamburger Cake” (I’ll post pictures soon!) and I’ve just finished creating these cool cake pops!
Cake pops have become really popular lately, you can even find them at Starbucks! Last week while checking out my favorite blogs, I stumbled upon the recipe for homemade cake pops at A Beautiful Mess and I whipped up a batch for Valentine’s Day.
I’ll be adding more pictures of how I got to my final product soon so check back in a few days. Happy crafting! <3 Maria
Like I mentioned in my last post, I couldn’t resist giving myself another Valentine’s day manicure and here it is!
Even though I love the glitter and the pinkness, I have to admit that I’m not quite in love. I actually borrowed this design from one of my fav. nail art sites —> CopyThatCopyCat.blogspot.com, but I used pink glitter in honor of V-day. (Check out her version here.) My problem is that the “cut-out” hearts aren’t as obvious through the pink and white glitter. I’m definitely going to have to try this one out again with a dark glitter polish. What do your think?
Like the many other “love-enthusiasts” out there, I am super excited about Valentine’s Day! I mean come on! The pink colored decorations, the chocolates, the hearts, the smell of romance filling the air, oh and let me not forget the endless crafting opportunities!
So far I’ve made a handmade v-day card out of magazine clippings for a friend, I’ve given myself Valentine’s Day inspired manicures (TWICE!) and tonight I’m making heart-shaped cake pops and hopefully knitting myself something cute to wear tomorrow. Although I have no specific “special someone” in my life (or maybe I do ;-p), I still see the awesomeness that comes with the day of love and friendship and PINK!
With that said, below is the nail design that I came up with for Valentine’s Day. Even though I was totally in LOVE with them (I mean really pink and sparkly?! Best of both worlds anyone?) I can’t pass up the opportunity to create something cuter and sparkly-er for the actual day. So here it is, I hope you guys like it! Happy crafting! <3 Maria
We’re Amanda and Maria and we want to officially welcome you to our new blog!
So a little about us…We’ve been friends for about 2.5 years now and have always been really into crafting. Amanda is a great crocheter and is awesome at creating and repairing jewelry. Maria on the other hand is an avid self-taught knitter (currently obsessed with making hats <3) and has a new found addiction to nail art. Beyond this, we’re both pretty crafty and excited to try new techniques and projects!
So why a blog? Well after countless Skype sessions sharing our new creations or DIY blog obsessions, we figured why not start our own blog to share our love for crafting with all our friends? Three weeks later, we have a blog!
All in all, we are SUPER excited to share our creations with you and see what you’ve been busy creating. We hope you stop by often to see what we’ve been up to! Happy crafting!
